Before your Appointment
Please send your referral form to us when you make your appointment. If we don’t receive your referral form with 24 hours of your appointment, we may need to reschedule.
Support People
You may bring a maximum of two support people with you. Children are included in this limit and must have adult supervision.
Preparation
For Pregnancy (up to 14 weeks), Pelvis, and Renal Scans: Arrive with a full bladder. One hour before your appointment, empty your bladder, then drink 3-4 large glasses of water within 15 minutes. Do not empty your bladder before your scan.
For Abdomen (liver/gallbladder) and Abdominal Aorta Scans: Do not eat or drink for 6 hours prior to your scan. You may have sips of water and continue to take your regular medication.
Cortisone Injection – please wear clothing to enable easy access to the injection area e.g. wear a singlet for shoulder injection.
Mobile phones and recording devices
The use of phones and cameras is not permitted in the scanning rooms. Mobile phones must be switched off or put on Airplane Mode. Images and a short video can be sent to your phone or email for a small fee; ask the receptionists about this at your appointment.
Payment Information
All accounts must be paid on the day of your appointment. Surcharges apply to ACC, Third Party accepted claims, and some pregnancy scans. If you choose to have a scan before receiving ACC approval and the claim is declined, you will be billed the private cost of the ultrasound.
